Childbirth Preparation Classes

Classes to help you prepare for the most amazing day of your life.
As your childbirth educator I will answer all your questions and that of your neighbor, mother, sister, aunt etc. I feel that fear stems from not knowing, so my job is to help you know enough that you no longer fear the process as you will be completely familiar with everything. I do not teach breathing or pain relief techniques, as you already know how to breathe, and have likely had your share of pain to deal with. I will help you identify your pain coping techniques that you already use and how those will be helpful to you in labor.
This is an 8hr class if done privately in your home- $150
6 week series if done with a group of 5 or more couples -$60/couple

Your rights as the patient
Common obstetric interventions and alternatives
Common newborn procedures and alternatives
Phases and Stages of labor
What to expect physically and emotionally at each phase of labor
How your birth partner can support you during each phase of labor
Positions and how they affect your labor
Newborn appearance and early care
Breast-feeding
Parenting styles

Postpartum Care
